Gethsemane Parish Family & Life Ministry presents First Batch of Parish Intervention Family Collaborator Course Graduates
The Gethsemane Parish Family & Life Ministry held its First Closing Ceremony for the Parish Intervention Family Collaborator (PIFC) Course at The Catholic Church of Christ of the Agony – Gethsemane Parish last July 17.
Cebu Archbishop Most Rev. Jose Palma presided over the Holy Mass. With him were Rev. Fr. Eligio Suico (Chairman, Commission on Family and Life), Rev. Fr. Januario Kipling U. Agravante IV (Team Moderator), and Rev. Fr. Junly N. Cortes (Team Member), and Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Uy (Resident Priest).
The 50 graduates from different parishes learned fundamental theories on Counseling and their application to the Pastoral Ministry. They attended three-hour lectures every Sunday, for 18 consecutive weeks at the Gethsemane Parish.
The facilitators and lecturers included priests, registered psychologists, psychometricians, and guidance counselors.
Certificates of Completion were awarded to the graduates, and Plaques of Appreciation to facilitators, lecturers, volunteers, and participating parishes.
“Thank you PIFC for widening our perspectives in life in general” the pioneering batch’s top graduate, Ms. Renie Jane Rom, LPT, said in her speech. “With all these learnings, PIFC sharpened, molded, and prepared all of us to be God’s voice and instrument in helping people who are also going through with the same or even worse tribulations in life,” she added.
The second batch of the PIFC Course will start on July 31. Interested applicants may come to the Gethsemane Parish from July 25 (Monday) to July 30 (Saturday) from 8:00 AM – 12:00 NN or 1:00 – 5:00 PM. The course has an enrollment fee of ₱1000.00.
Following the closing ceremony was also the blessing of Gethsemane Parish’s St. John Paul II Family and Life Center. // Jeza Marturillas
